Logbook kept by Richard Lee of Wakefield, Rhode Island aboard the whaling ship William Hamilton out of New Bedford, 28 May 1834-27 Aug. 1837, while traveling in the south Atlantic and south Pacific Oceans. Log includes daily records of ports visited; the weather; whales sighted and caught; and encounters with other ships. Ports visited include Galapagos, Tonga, Society Island, and Friendly Island.
